Inspiration2Women is the largest-ever event in Kingston designed to celebrate women in business, entrepreneurship and corporate leadership. Thursday, April 25th, 2013 the K-Rock Centre is the "place to be". Hear from: Sarah Richardson, designer and host of Sarah 101 on HGTV; Catriona Le May Doan, Two-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Speed Skater; Gail Vaz-Oxlade, famous as a Canadian money management wizard and host of TV's Till Debt Do Us Part; Author Susan Sly is a Balanced Living Expert, speaker and entrepreneur. And Deborah Kimmett is one funny lady and believes that business and creativity do mix.
All keynote speakers have one thing in common…a genuine desire to inspire and help other women from all business sectors be successful professionally and in all aspects of life.
And, in addition to listening to the speakers, this event provides the opportunity to network and build relationships with others who are like-minded and share in your desire for growth and inspiration.
After 15 years in exciting, evolving, and fast-paced genre of lifestyle television, Sarah Richardson is launching her 4th re-brand with an exciting, new HGTV series: Sarah 101. Sarah started out in 1995 working behind the scenes as a prop stylist and set decorator. Within a year, Sarah found herself in high demand as an on screen personality and quickly realized that she could carve a niche in the emerging world of design TV by sharing her practical, endearing and inspiring approach to interior design with viewers.
For over ten years Sarah has led her design firm, Sarah Richardson Design, in new and exciting directions with an ever-increasing roster of both residential and commercial projects. She combines creativity and well-honed skill to express her signature style through interiors with timeless appeal.
Sarah's work is featured frequently in design publications in Canada, the US and the United Kingdom. She was the youngest designer to be named one of Canada's foremost "stylemakers" by Canadian House and Home Magazine, and was awarded Canada's Top 40 Under 40™ in 2007. She makes regular cross-Canada appearances to share her design knowledge and ideas, and writes a featured column on design for The Globe and Mail.
Sarah Richardson can be seen sharing her design ideas on Sarah 101, Sarah's House, design inc or Sarah's cottage. She keeps her life balanced living off the grid at the solar-powered cottage she shares with her husband and daughters.
With her no-nonsense approach to finance, money wizard Gail Vaz-Oxlade can help the most desperate debt dodger get in touch with their inner scrooge.
Gail hosts the Canadian television series Til Debt Do Us Part and Princess, and is in production for a new show - Money Moron - which will air in the spring. She blogs twice-weekly for MoneySense.ca and every day on her own blog at gailvazoxlade.com. She has written 15 books about money. Debt-Free Forever sold over 100,000 copies in Canada and is also published in the U.S. And India. Her latest book, Money Rules, is jam packed full of what Gail calls, "common sense", which she wants to help turn into money in the bank.
Whether you're living a champagne lifestyle as you drown in debt or counting pennies for that walk down the aisle, Gail has the expertise to give you the financial makeover of your dreams. She is the finance guru that can take any family from red to black.
Gail Vaz-Oxlade is sought after by top financial institutions and leading publications for her vibrant and irreverent style. She is recognized for her unique ability to make complex financial topics accessible so that even a child can understand.
Susan Sly is a balanced living expert. She is the author of five books, speaker and self-made multi-millionaire. She has appeared on ABC Family Television, the CBN, Lifetime Television and written for Dianne Magazine, Oxygen Australia and many more. Susan practiced as a certified personal trainer and nutritional consultant for 15 years. She has guest lectured at universities and taught nutrition at the college level. Susan dedicates time to philanthropy and projects that benefit women and girls all over the world. Susan and her husband, Chris, are also parents to four children ranging in age from 3 years to 15 years. Susan believes that women can have it all.
Catriona Le May Doan was Canada's Athlete of the year in 2002. She has served as a CTV television co-host commentator for the 2012 London Olympic Summer Games and 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games. Canadian flag bearer at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games opening ceremonies, she won the gold medal in the 500m event at those very games, defending her 1998 Olympic 500m gold and became the first Canadian to defend a gold medal at any Olympic Games. Although she has retired from the competitive speed skating, she is still a central figure in the sport.
She is not only an Olympic and World Champion but a talented motivational speaker as well. Articulate, engaging and fluently bilingual, she connects with audiences by discussing how to achieve personal excellence and motivating people to realize their full potential.
Catriona has received three Honorary Degrees from the University of Calgary, the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina and gave the convocation speech to their graduating class. Her achievements have landed her in the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, the Canadian Olympic Committee Sports Hall of Fame, and she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.
